Diane Pitts retired from the active practice of law in 2002 after 24 years with the law firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist, P. C, where she specialized in corporate, partnership and securities law and, prior to her retirement, was the firm's general counsel. Ms. Pitts has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including, among others, Friends of Fair Park, Dallas Women's Museum Advisory Board, Dallas Women's Foundation, YWCA Women's Resource Center and Child Care Group. She is a founder of Attorneys Serving the Community, an organization of Dallas attorneys that has raised in excess of $1 million for various Dallas nonprofits. She was appointed by Honorable Gary Griffith as a member of the South Dallas Fair Park Trust Fund Board and also served on Mayor Annette Strauss' Trade and Investment Task Force. She is the co-author of a book on NAFTA. Ms. Pitts has been actively involved on a number of projects with the Dallas Independent School District and the City of Dallas. Ms. Pitts served on the Board of Directors and later as Executive Director of Texas Horse Park, Inc., a nonprofit that was working with the City of Dallas to develop and manage a horse park in the City of Dallas as part of the Trinity River Corridor Plan. She is currently a member of the Board of Governors and is President – Elect of the United States Eventing Association and is Young Rider Coordinator for Area V of the USEA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from SMU and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia.
